Day 7! Acorns and Wool, Inexpensive Home Made!

Wool acorns.
This is possibly the most simple wool felting project.
You need acorn caps, and a little bit of wool. Michaels and most crafting shops sell wool for felting. Also, the basic colors sold are fine for wool acorns. Just because most acorns are brown doesn’t mean your felted acorns have to be brown.
Felting wool involves using a special needle with a small hook to compress the fibers of the wool. The wool basically hooks to itself and becomes tight.

Easy to find in the Fall! I save them for later use!
But, if you don’t want to use a needle, you can simply roll the wool into a tight ball and glue it into the acorn cap.
You get a wool acorn you can use to decorate gift wrapped presents. Tie on a ribbon, and it’s an ornament for your tree. You can even make a necklace out of the acorns.
One word of warning, cats love these also.
This is still a popular craft for school children, and if elementary students can do this, so can you!
Remember, colorful wool makes the acorns even more fun, and a small amount goes a long way.
