Artists are being asked to show their support for freedom of speech by contributing works inspired by the recent terrorist attack in Paris.
We bring our readers this work, entitled “Egypt”
6000 Years ago….
Egyptians built a culture and life around their religion. Today no one worships these ancient gods.
However, this art brings visitors from around the world that admire, not the gods, but the artists and craftspeople.
It is the creativity of mankind that lasts, not the ephemeral beliefs. The gift of culture is the gift of the artist. What is left to the future, to admire and define us, is our art.
A group that attacks artists with guns, forgets that ideas backed by bullets only fade, but ideas backed by artists last beyond the lifetime of the artist. The photographers and writers and cartoonists that respond to attacks, leave a legacy that a dead terrorist never will.
